Study Programs
Advent & Lent Study Programs
Are offered seasonally, covering a range of
subjects. These programs may focus on
spirituality, biblical study, theology, social
concerns or prayer patterns. All are
welcome to take part.
Enquirer's Sessions
These are offered as requested or needed to
those who are curious about or interested in
becoming part of either the Chrisitan experience
or the Anglican Church. For more
information email the pastor from the "contact
us" page.
Marriage
Preparation
Through
a professionally developed program offered
regularly throughout the year. Upon
application for marriage, the couple are
provided with information about dates and
registration fees for this program.
Baptismal
Preparation Is
required for those who are seeking baptism either for themselves or
for their child. This program is offered within the parish
community and involves both personal work done at home and meetings
and discussions with the pastor or someone appointed to lead the
program.
THE HURON-CRONYN LECTURES ON FAITH AND
REASON
In the spring of 2007, the parish launched a
new public lecture series. This first lecture was given by Dr.
John Dominic Crossan on the subject of "Faith, Reason and the
Historical Jesus".
These lectures are
to be an annual event and plans are underway for the next three to
four year cycle of guest lecturers. Watch this space and the
"Special Events" link on the home page for more details and
information as they become available.
CONFERENCES
With renovation of the worship space, the building has been opened
up for use in a number of ways, one of which is the hosting of
conferences and workshops.
In the Fall of 2007, the parish organized and
hosted the first "Widening Circle" conference which resulted in the
formation of a national group of Progressive minded Anglicans.
This was followed by a second conference hosted at Cronyn on the
topic of the proposed Anglican covenant. Material was provided
from that conference to participants at the 2010 General Synod of
the Anglican Church of Canada.
We hope to host and sponsor additional
conferences and workshops on a variety of topics of interest to both
members of the church and the wider population.
