William Dundas Community
Group
In
co-operation with the city and community organizations, Bishop Cronyn Memorial
is part of an initiative to provide resources
and programs to the Dundas & William St. area of London with a
particular focus on substance abuse, affordable
housing, community safety and youth.
Loaves &
Fishes Daily Bread
Each
week members of the community contribute canned,
and dry food stuffs which are taken to the Daily
Bread Food Bank located in St. Paul's
Cathedral. Daily Bread serves the
needs of many people in the city including the
working poor.
Out of the
Cold Program
Once
every three weeks a team of people gather at
Dundas Street Centre United Church to work with
their team in providing a hot meal to those who
need the program. Out of the Cold is a
program that takes place in a number of churches
and is supported by various congregations and
denominations to provide a daily meal to those
needing assistance.
Huron Hunger
Fund
This
fund is part of the Primates World Relief and
Development Program providing emergency relief
and response in time of disaster and supporting
development programs throughout the world.
Residential
Schools Settlement
As
a matter of justice, the Anglican Church has
undertaken to provide funding for settlements as
a result of abuse which took place in Native
Residential Schools when the Church ran these
institutions along with the Canadian
Government. Bishop Cronyn Memorial makes
every effort to make its fair share contribution to the "Healing
Fund" of the National Church..
Hospitality
The
parish works to provide hospitality to groups
and organizations that serve the population of
the surrounding community. Alcoholics
Anonymous, Gamblers Anonymous, Narcotics
Anonymous, Westover Group and Conversations with
God use space in the Parish Hall for their
meetings and programs. Pro Musica, a local
choral group, uses the church for its weekly
rehearsals.
