PASTORAL CARE SERVICES

Bishop
Cronyn Memorial is
a community of people who care for one another.
That
caring takes place both formally and informally
especially when there are specific needs. Caring
ministry is our response to the love and power
of Jesus, Christ in our
lives.
Pastoral Care
The Pastoral
Care Team in partnership with the Rector
carries out a deliberate ministry of listening
and caring with compassion for those who are
either in hospital or otherwise unable to
worship with the community because of illness or
frailty. The team meets regularly in order to
learn and to support one another in this
ministry.
In order to widen the circle of our gathered
community Home
Communion Teams
carry the sacrament from the altar to those
who are shut-in at home.
Seniors
within our community are valued and supported in
many ways, including regular visits for those
who are unable to get out and about, recognition
of the ministry of, by and to seniors, and a
regular prayer ministry that supports them.

you have a pastoral need, please contact the

Warner Place
Chaplain
The parish provides chaplaincy
services to Warner Place, a seniors' residence attached to the
church, in the person of Barb Conrad. The chaplain
is involved in the life of the community at Warner Place and
provides pastoral services as needed.
Counselling Services
The clergy and lay staff among
them have a variety of gifts in the area of counselling and make
themselves available for individual or couple counselling as may be
requested.
In addition, the services of a
social worker are available.
The Healing
Ministry
Healing and reconciliation are two of the primary
ministries of the church. These are seen in much of the work
that goes on around Bishop Cronyn each day. Pastoral care and
support, counselling, the sacrament of reconciliation (confession),
and a ministry of being present to those who suffer, or are in need
are all part of this ministry. At least once in each season,
at the main community eucharist on a Sunday morning, the ministry of
"laying on of hands with prayer for Healing" is offered to those who
would like the community to pray for them. Clergy and laity
share in this ministry and all who feel called to be part of the
"laying on of hands" are invited and welcome to do so.
